Lewiston Adult Education, Bonney Staffing, Western Maine Community Action and the Lewiston CareerCenter are partnering to provide an Office Certificate training program with a customer service focus. The program will begin on September 19. Participants will receive extensive training in the essential skills needed for an entry-level position in an office setting, including keyboarding, data entry, MS Word, MS Excel, email, calendar software, office management tools, effective communication skills, and more. Participants will also have an opportunity to job shadow with a local employer.  Upon completion of the program, students will earn a state-approved WorkReady credential and will have a guaranteed interview with Bonney Staffing.

To be accepted to the program, candidates must provide proof of a high school diploma or equivalent, proficiency in math and reading through the CASAS assessment, and successfully complete the orientation and intake interview. Participants will also need to show a six-month work history and current work authorization.

Those interested in the program should contact Lewiston Adult Education at 795-4141. Candidates will be scheduled to complete CASAS testing. Orientations and interviews will take place on Tuesday, August 23, from 3 to 5 p.m. at Lewiston High School (156 East Avenue) and Wednesday, August 31, from 10 a.m. to noon at B Street (57 Birch Street).
