Guay named head of Healthy Androscoggin
The Advisory Board of Healthy Androscoggin has announced that Erin E. Guay, MPH, has been hired as the agency’s Executive Director. Guay has a long history with Healthy Androscoggin. She has been a Cultural and Linguistic Competency Manager for the agency since November 2014 and previously served for seven years as a Health Promotion Manager. In addition, she has served the organization as Interim Director on two separate occasions. She has extensive grant-writing experience and has been a visible presence in the state’s public health community.
In her new role, Guay will oversee close to $1 million in grant funding addressing the agency’s core goals of supporting tobacco-free lifestyles, preventing youth substance use, encouraging physical activity, promoting healthy eating and preventing childhood lead poisoning. She will provide expert leadership to the organization as it strives to grow and better serve the needs of the communities it serves.
Guay graduated from Bowdoin College in 2001 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Biology. She completed her Master of Public Health at the University of Michigan-Ann Arbor in 2007. She has completed several leadership institutes, including the Health Literacy Institute, the Leadership Institute for New Executive Directors of the Maine Association of Non-Profits, and the Androscoggin Leadership Development Institute of the Androscoggin Chamber of Commerce.
