Community Little Theatre’s “Chicago” opens Nov. 4
Community Little Theatre’s production of the hit musical “Chicago” will open on Friday, November 4. In “Roaring Twenties” Chicago, Roxie Hart murders a faithless lover and convinces her hapless husband, Amos, to take the rap… until he finds out he’s been duped and turns on Roxie. Convicted and sent to death row, Roxie and another “Merry Murderess,” Velma Kelly, vie for the spotlight and the headlines, ultimately joining forces in search of the “American Dream”: fame, fortune – and acquittal.
In addition to a dazzling score, this sharp-edged, Tony Award-winning satire features choreography by Bob Fosse. Musical numbers include “All that Jazz,” “Cell Block Tango,” “Me and My Baby” and “Razzle Dazzle.”
Production dates are November 4, 5, 10, 11 and 12 at 7:30 p.m. and November 6 and 13 at 2 p.m. All performances will take place at Great Falls Performing Arts Center on Academy Street in Auburn. For more information or to buy tickets, see www.laclt.com.
