Lewiston residents who can’t wait until Election Day on Nov. 8 may vote at City Hall via absentee ballot until Nov. 3.

The City of Lewiston’s Early Voting Polling Place is now open and ready to serve voters. With many planning to cast their votes by absentee ballot, and just two weeks remaining before the statewide deadline for absentee voting on November 3, the City is accommodating those who want to vote early by setting up an Early Voting Polling Place in the City Council Chambers on the first floor of Lewiston City Hall.

“Many voters already know how they are going to vote and do not want to wait until Election Day,” said Lewiston City Clerk Kathy Montejo. “Allowing residents to vote ahead of time at City Hall makes the process easy and welcoming for our residents.”

From now until Thursday, November 3, Lewiston voters may visit City Hall Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. to cast their vote by absentee ballot. The Early Voting Polling Place will also be open for evening hours on Thursday, November 3 until 7 p.m.

Residents who are not able to visit City Hall to vote may request an absentee ballot over the phone by calling the City Clerk’s Office at 513-3124, or may order one online via a link on the City’s elections website at www.lewistonmaine.gov/elections.

All of the City’s regular polling places will be open on Election Day, Tuesday, November 8, from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. Residents with election questions may call the City Clerk’s Office at 513-3124
