Mystery For Hire’s Pirate Show Held at Hilton Garden Riverwatch

LEWISTON, ME (September 23, 2022) –Mystery for Hire is set to launch a new pirate mystery script by actor and playwright, Greg Simpson of Minot.

Mystery for Hire returns with a performance of “Mystery of the Lost Treasure,” a new original script on Friday, October 7 at the Hilton Garden Riverwatch in Auburn with doors opening at 6 PM. Tickets are $65 per person which includes buffet dinner service featuring a plated salad upon arrival, multiple entrée selections, sides and dessert along with one beverage ticket valid for beer, wine or a non-alcoholic beverage, and tax and gratuity.

“This show has an outrageous array of pirates to entertain our guests,” said Dan Marois, who with his wife, Denise, have operated Mystery for Hire for 27 years. “Audience members will become members of competing pirate ships all with the goal of finding buried treasure and outdoing the other crews. Guests are encouraged to wear their best pirate outfits with prizes for the best costumes of the evening.”

Marois says that it is a bit of a homecoming to be doing a public mystery show at the Hilton Garden Riverview once again, just a short walk from where mystery shows first began in the area.

“The first mystery show in the area was performed at No Tomatoes down the street about 30 years ago,” said Marois. “We have performed at the Hilton Garden Riverwatch numerous times to sold out houses.”

“If you like interactive fun or just sitting back to watch the action, the show is a treat,” said Marois. “It also appeals to people who like to dine out, party a bit, and who enjoy theater.”  A mystery show is also a great time for a group to gather.  “Friends, family, co-workers often come to our events to celebrate a special occasion,” adds Marois.

Mystery for Hire is Maine’s longest running professional mystery dinner theater troupe having performed nearly 1000 mystery shows to audiences totaling over 70,000. While they perform throughout New England, most shows have been presented in Maine.

“Our public shows offer guests a chance to enjoy an evening of entertainment and dining all in one experience,” said Marois. He notes that the ticket price of $65 includes all the usual perks plus one drink ticket. “Guests like the idea of an all-inclusive price for tickets.”

The cast for “Mystery of the Lost Treasure” includes Greg Simpson, Kathleen Nation, Nick Dufault, Dan Marois, CarlaRose Dubois, and first time Mystery for Hire performer, Sara Poulin.

Doors open for the mystery show at 6 PM. Tickets can be purchased at hgiauburnriverwatch.com/mysterydinner. For info on Mystery for Hire, go to mysteryforhire.net.
