LHS Centre Stage Ensemble presents “After Juliet”
“A pair of star-cross’d lovers take their life.” It was with these words that came the unforgettable tale of Romeo and Juliet, remembered to all as both tragic and romantic.
However, with their deaths the story ends, thus causing the realm of Romeo and Juliet’s Verona to disappear. Right? Wrong!
Lewiston High School ’s Centre Stage Ensemble is proud to present “After Juliet,” a story that illuminates all the chaos and more romance that follows the death of our two “star-crossed lovers.” Haunted by the death of her beloved Romeo, Rosaline (Sarah Patterson) becomes filled with hatred and woe.
While in her wallowing, Benvolio (Scott Gagne), a Montague and Romeo’s cousin, begins to fall in love with her, love which she will not have. Through the twists and turns of this intricate plot, we meet characters like the seizure-prone Bianca (Zan Wong), Bianca’s sister Helena (Veronica Beaudoin) and a flautist, Rhona (Marina Belanger). Also joining them are Alice (Taylor Roy), Angelica (Alicia Ouellette), Petruchio (Chris Belanger), and two characters of comic relief, Lorenzo (David Carvalho) and Gianni (Daniel Fortier).
However, Rosaline, strong and bitter, becomes bent on revenge and the demise of the Montague family. Don’t miss the suspense and adventure of “After Juliet,” which will take place on January 6, 7 and 8 at 7:30 p.m. at Lewiston Middle School. Tickets are $8 for adults, $5 for students and senior citizens.
