Hole-in-one prize winner Jason Agren, with Greater Androscoggin Humane Society Development Director Donna Kincer

Jason Agren was recently presented with $5,000 following his hole-in-one at the Greater Androscoggin Humane Society’s 14th annual Golf Tournament. Held in June at Martindale Country Club, Agren made the rare shot from 220 yards on hole #9, making him the first hole-in-one winner in the history of the Society’s event.

The primary support for the Society comes from fundraising events like the annual Golf Tournament and donations of concerned citizens. The tournament raised over $23,500, all of which goes toward funding the operating costs of caring for and sheltering over 4,400 animals annually. The $5,000 hole-in-one prize was paid for by Hole-In-One International.

The Greater Androscoggin Humane Society is located at 55 Strawberry Avenue in Lewiston. For more information about volunteering at the shelter or adopting an animal, call 783-2311, find them on Facebook, or see www.SavingPetsInMaine.org.
